When and where to watch

Season 6 of the FOX show premieres on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, featuring a shocking double unmasking and the addition of two new Wildcards.

The host and panel

Nick Cannon will return as host, with Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Robin Thicke returning as panelists. Additionally, Joel McHale, Cheryl Hines, will.i.am, and Leslie Jordan have all been confirmed as guest panelists.

the costumes

It’s unclear how many contestants there will be, but a first look promo shares a glimpse at Cupcake, Banana Split, Dalmatian, Mallard, and Hamster. The Wildcards (any costume that randomly joins throughout the season) are returning for season 6 as well.

the format

Season 6 of The Masked Singer will feature just two groups of contestants, Group A and Group B. For the first time in the show’s history, the winner of Group A will face off against the winner of Group B in an ultimate Mask-Off-Face-Off in the season finale.

The contestants have a combined 85 Grammy nominations and 27 wins, three Oscar noms, 12 Emmy noms, two Super Bowl appearances, and two Lifetime Achievement Awards according to showrunner James Breen: "Not everyone is a professional singer, but there's a lot of hidden talents..."

the audience

The Masked Singer’s in-person audience will return for the first time in three seasons! "It changes the dynamics in the studio. I think it's just been really fun to get fans back into the room and have them experience it with us,” says Breen.

what else to expect

According to executive producer Craig Plestis, season 6 will embrace “the three Bs”: bonkers, bizarre, and big. Breen says the changes will be noticeable in everything: “I think the creatives are bigger and crazier than they've ever been.”
