The Pogues think that John B. and Sarah are dead. So we realized that that gave us some dramatic possibilities that we could explore before we get them all reunited.

Distraught at her family’s actions, Sarah runs off with John B right into a storm. Fortunately, the couple survives, though no one in The Cut or Figure Eight knows they’ve survived.
