Spears shared a minute-long clip of herself performing at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in 2017 with a vague caption: "Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the action person living behind the lens 📷✨!!!!"

Spears' post came hours after her boyfriend of four years, actor Sam Asghari, posted an Instagram story in which he called Spears' father "a total dick" who is trying to control our relationship."
