Bad timing for Henry Winkler and Battery Park

NBC’s NYPD comedy Battery Park was canceled after four episodes, and the network didn’t air the remaining episodes until June — after the Emmy eligibility cutoff date. While Winkler’s guest appearance earned him an Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy nomination, it was eventually pointed out that the episode in question didn’t air until the summer. The nomination slot went to William H. Macy for Sports Night.
