Welcome to season 2
In season 2 of Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, the titular superhero family is flung to '60s Texas. Klaus (Robert Sheehan) arrives first, and becomes a very successful cult leader.
A new apocalypse
Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) is once again racing to stop an apocalypse, but this one at least isn't being caused by Vanya (Ellen Page) — or at least, not entirely.
Dance yourself clean
Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Vanya, and Klaus get some family bonding time in at a local salon.
Bust a move
Now that we know all the characters, there's more time to revel in their relationships in season 2.
Luther (Tom Hopper)
The man formerly known as Number One isn't feeling like a leader after the events of season 1. But who's that gun for?
Punch 'til you drop
Luther spends his time in the '60s becoming an underground fighter.
Diego (David Castañeda)
As kids, the Umbrella Academy wore matching school uniforms, but they haven't been seen much in adulthood.
Ben (Justin H. Min)
The nicest member of the Umbrella Academy died years ago, so Klaus is the only one who can see his ghost. That leaves Ben feeling a little left out of family gatherings.
Thrown in the deep end
While some of his siblings get to spend a lot of time in the past, Number Five arrives right as everything's falling apart.
Umbrella Academy, assemble!
The opening scene of season 2, released online early by Netflix, finds the team coming together to stop an apocalypse...
'Those are nukes, old timer'
...and failing, once again. The Umbrella Academy's presence in the past has brought on an apocalypse decades ahead of schedule. What do you say, viewers: Double or nothing?
Visit from an old friend
"Those are nukes, old timer," an older Hazel (Cameron Britton) tells Number Five before giving him a time briefcase so he can go back a few days to prevent this new apocalypse.
All together, again
One thing's for sure: If the Umbrella Academy wants to stop that nuclear apocalypse, they'll have to work together. They just have to be smart about it.
Movin' right along
Shortly after arriving in '60s Dallas, Vanya is hit by a car driven by Sissy (Marin Ireland). Sometimes friendships spring from the unlikeliest places.
With Hazel and Cha-Cha gone, the Umbrella Academy find themselves pursued by a new team of assassins.
Number Five (Aidan Gallagher)
During the decades he spent in an apocalyptic wasteland, Number Five's only source of companionship was a mannequin he called Dolores.
Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman)
Stuck in the '60s for more than a year, Allison starts working with the local civil rights movement.
Klaus (Robert Sheehan) & Ben (Justin H. Min)
Just because Klaus is good at forming a cult doesn't mean he's good at fixing cars.
The power inside
Vanya's violin is nowhere to be seen this season, but she still has access to her dangerous supersonic powers.
Beyond the grave
Ben's powers are nothing to shake a stick at. Maybe they could help the Umbrella Academy when all other options fail.
Time for tiki
The Umbrella Academy, including Allison, assembles at a tiki restaurant for an important meeting.
Stuck in the middle with you
The Hargreeves siblings are glad to reunite after some time apart, but elevators can get crowded.
A new Vanya
Thanks to her bout of amnesia, Vanya is a much more relaxed character in season 2.
During his time apart from his siblings, Diego teams up with the mysterious Lila (Ritu Arya).
As she works with civil rights activists, Allison grows particularly close to Raymond Chestnut (Yusuf Gatewood).
Unlike her '60s allies, Allison knows how the civil rights movement will turn out. That gives her courage, but could also leave her vulnerable.
Allison's confidence helps inspire her fellow civil rights activists.
The good times are killing me
Klaus finds newfound popularity and success as a cult leader, which he is desperately trying to escape when we catch up with him.
Once Diego has a mission in mind, it's hard to stop him from pursuing it.
Armed to the teeth
Underestimate the Swedes at your own peril.
After Vanya's traumatic childhood and all kinds of family problems, Sissy's kindness does her a lot of good.
Hearth and home
It's not just Sissy. Vanya also grows close with Sissy's young son Harlan (Justin Paul Kelly). Her husband is another matter.
It's all fun and games until the nuclear apocalypse happens.
