Ellen DeGeneres' new co-producer 'tWitch' Boss fills in as host
DeGeneres' resident dancer and co-executive-producer takes over after her brief absence.
Ellen DeGeneres is leaning on her resident dancer (and new co-executive producer) to take over during her temporary absence.
Stephen "tWitch" Boss will fill in for the talk show host across Friday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which the namesake comedian will sit out. Boss' wife, Allison Holker Boss, will also step in as a guest DJ in her husband's place.
During his hosting stint, Boss is set to welcome Dancing With the Stars panelist Derek Hough, Queer Eye cohost Karamo Brown for a discussion about his split from fiancé Ian Jordan and self-reflecting in quarantine. Later, TikTok star Addison Rae discusses rising to popularity on the video sharing app, her friendship with Kourtney Kardashian, and her upcoming acting debut in the gender-swapped She's All That remake.
Boss takes the episode's reins amid the show's ongoing controversy regarding the alleged "toxic" workplace environment former staffers say was fostered by show producers and, at times, DeGeneres. WarnerMedia reportedly launched an investigation into the claims over the summer. Shortly before the series' return, executive producer Kevin Leman, executive producer Ed Glavin, and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman departed the series following allegations of inappropriate behavior, which Leman and Norman denied.
Amid the fallout, Boss was promoted to co-executive-producer, and expressed positive sentiments regarding DeGeneres herself.
"We can't speak too much legally about it, but I'll say this, there's been love," Boss told Us. "Obviously there's some things to address, but from my standpoint and from countless others, there's been love. I'll just leave it at that until there's a time where we can address more publicly. There's been love and there will continue to be love."
Watch Boss take over The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, Sept. 25.
