Season 7 kicked off with fun performances and a couple mishaps, including McTerrier, who was a delight on stage, literally losing his head. Ultimately the show screwed the pooch, eliminating the charming entertainer revealed to be Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman. "I think the one thing that I told myself was, 'Don't be a jackass. Go out there, have a good time, but don't be a jackass. Don't screw it up,'" Goldman told EW. "And I totally screwed it up!"

Ram, bam, thank you, ma'am. After a drama-filled duel against Firefly, the not-so-sheepish singer was eliminated in episode 2 and revealed to be Emmy-winning sportscaster Joe Buck.

Cyclops

The one-eyed monster never saw it coming. After a dramatic three-way showdown, Cyclops was the first out in a double elimination episode. The green giant was unmasked as Lost fan-favorite and Hawaii Five-O star Jorge Garcia, who told EW the one bummer about the show was finding out later his friends were also on with him, including Duff Goldman as McTerrier. "I know Duff! I had no idea he was going to be on the show. And then he got revealed and I was like, 'Aw, oh, man.' If it was any other kind of show, we could have hung out."

Thingamano! Second to go in the double elimination was cuddly crooner Thingamabob, who was unmasked to reveal offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles Jordan Mailata. After singing so sweetly he made Ken Jeong cry, we can't wait for Mailata to hit the recording studio.

When a brand new batch of singers was introduced in week 4, the purple primate just couldn't swing to the top of the pack. The sparkly songstress unmasked to reveal supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley, but the most shocking reveal of the night was that famously bad guesser Ken Jeong actually got this one right.

Hydra

THE MASKED SINGER: Hydra
Credit: Michael Becker/Fox (2)

Three heads are better than one, just not when it comes to masked singing. The monstrous Hydra was eliminated in a duel with Armadillo, and unmasked to be two men doing three voices: magician duo Penn & Teller. It turns out the famously silent Teller was actually singing two of the parts. "Teller is actually a fairly good singer," Penn Jillette explained to EW. "So it was wonderful to have Teller do two characters — he did a character we called Rex after Rex Harrison, and he also did his own voice. And it was really wonderful because Teller doesn't talk, let alone sing, in the Penn & Teller show."

Armadillo came to fight, but just didn't have the pipes to knock out his competition. The hard-shelled vocalist was eliminated and turned out to be reality star Duane Chapman, a.k.a. Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Miss Teddy

Picking the next to go in the double-elimination episode was a real-nail biter, but sadly the cuddly orange teddy had the stuffing pulled out of her. She was unmasked to reveal Grammy-winning singer and Tony-winning Dreamgirls star Jennifer Holliday.

Jack in the Box

Months after hearing reports of the infamous unmasking that led to Ken Jeong walking off, the episode revealing Rudy Giuliani arrived. The former NYC mayor and personal attorney for Donald Trump was revealed to be the Jack in the Box, leaving Jeong stunned. When Giuliani began singing an encore of "Bad to the Bone," the usually joyful panelist declared, "I'm done," and exited the set.

Baby Mammoth

Look who's singing! Baby Mammoth won us over with her adorable looks and hilarious banter on stage, but sadly, not with her pipes. The woolly mammal shed her mask to reveal Emmy-winning Cheers, Veronica's Closet, and Look Who's Talking star Kirstie Alley.

Who guessed Space Bunny would go so soon? It wasn't me. The hip hopper was eliminated first in the round 3 finals, and turned out to be Mr. Boombastic himself: Grammy-winning reggae star Shaggy, who'd been altering his voice all season to throw the judges.

Another shocking elimination came in the round 3 finals when Queen Cobra — revealed to actually be a trio of Queen Cobras earlier in the episode — also did not make the cut. They freed their masks to expose the current lineup of iconic girl group En Vogue. Even if they're never gonna get the Golden Mask Trophy, they won the love of the crowd and panelists with their glorious vocal harmonies week after week.

The Prince

Another royal was next to croak. The Prince didn't rule the competition, but he hopped his way into fans' hearts with his lovely voice and sweet story. The fancy frog was the first revealed in the season finale, turning out to be American Horror Story and 30 Rock alum Cheyenne Jackson. Jackson told EW that one tough part of doing the show was keeping it a secret from Call Me Kat costar Leslie Jordan, who served as a guest judge this season: "He was so excited. And he's like, 'Cheyenne, you need to do this show. I think they would love you.' And I wanted to grab him and be like, 'I'm doing it right now!'"

She may have mastered the ring, but she just missed out on being declared the champ. Runner-up Ringmaster was unveiled as The Goldbergs star and singer Hayley Orrantia, who admitted to EW that she had some stage fright under the mask: "I was very nervous every night that I went out on stage for Masked Singer to a degree that it shocked me, because I'm pretty comfortable on stage."

That brings us to our season 7 victor. Firefly proved her light could not be extinguished, claiming the Golden Mask Trophy. "It feels so good," she said on stage, choking up, before being revealed as singer and Coming 2 America actress Teyana Taylor.
