The Magicians are ready for an epic quest in stunning season 3 photos

Just because there’s no more magic in the world, that doesn’t The Magicians‘ characters have lost their swagger. The Syfy fantasy series’ cast strikes a pose in these stunning exclusive images from season 3, featuring not only our favorite series regulars but also new cast member Felicia Day. And judging from the serious looks on their faces, Quentin and the gang aren’t messing around this season. See more pretty photos of this enchanting cast ahead.

Why so serious? Well, maybe it has to do with the state of their world. After killing the god Ember in the season 2 finale, the creators of the universe punished the humans by shutting off magic — which, no doubt, makes life quite miserable for the Brakebills students. That being said, this gives them something to do in the new season. When The Magicians returns, Eliot, Quentin, a.k.a. The Fool, and the rest of gang take to the high seas on an epic quest to restore magic. Here’s hoping they manage to have some fun along the way

Julia the God Touched is the one sign that there’s this magic in the world somewhere, because at the end of season 2, she revealed to Quentin that she could still create Jubilee-like sparks. 

Sure, Fillory’s reigning monarchs look fierce-as-hell here, but all’s not well in their kingdom. In season 3, magic-free Fillory is under full but secret occupation by the fairies. Thus, Eliot and Margo, our One-Eyed Conquereor, find themselves as the unwilling pawns of the Fairy Queen (Candis Cayne), whose loves torturing Margo with baffling and humiliating demands. 

Day’s smile says, “I know something you don’t know,” which makes sense because in season 3, she plays Poppy, a postgraduate fellow from Brakebills who is discovered in Fillory doing interesting work as a Dragonologist. 

And here we have the Traveller and the Warrior of this quest party. The Magicians returns Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 9 p.m.
