Make-over ... more like bake-over!
Queer Eye‘s Fab 5 — Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, and Jonathan Van Ness — are used to helping transform peoples’ lives on their hit Netflix series, but now they transform eggs, flour, sugar, and so much more into an elaborate confectionery concoction in a special crossover episode of the streaming service’s baking competition Nailed It!, the second season of which premiered Friday. Ahead, check out photos and commentary from Nailed It! host Nicole Byer and the show’s head judge, master pastry chef and chocolatier Jacques Torres.
We have to make WHAT?!
The Fab 5 discover that they have to recreate cupcakes adorned with fondant replicas of themselves in this battle to see who “nailed it!” the best. Except for Antoni — Queer Eye‘s food and wine expert serves as guest judge!
A cup of this, a sprinkle of that
Bobby and Jonathan might be good at interior design and hair styling, but how will they measure up as bakers?
“Uh no, there’s not enough time on the clock for a dance break… Mmm hmm uh oh.”—Nicole Byer
That's gotta hurt!
“Even Antoni made out of modeling chocolate is cute.”—Nicole Byer
“Antoni, you want me to tell people what’s really in your glass?”—Jacques Torres
Kiss and tell!
While Nicole Byer checks in with Bobby, Jonathan steals a kiss from guest judge and BFF Antoni.
Grace (and buff arms) under pressure
“Tan showed us his muscle tone, but the most impressive for me is that his hair didn’t move the entire competition.”—Jacques Torres
“Bobby thinks powdered sugar is for the air and not his cake. #confused”—Nicole Byer
“Bobby, I sprinkle flour and sugar everywhere I go too!”—Jacques Torres
Hey Jonathan, those pink owls can see you trying to cheat!
A friendly little competition
“These boys seem ready to bake except Bobby… cute tube apron but not practical.”—Nicole Byer
“I’m so proud of each of you. You really Nailed It!”—Jacques Torres
