Mayim Bialik gets close to Vanessa Lachey and calico kitty in clawsome Call Me Kat first look
Lachey joins the cast of the Fox comedy based on the British comedy Miranda.
Mayim Bialik is feline fine in her new series Call Me Kat and EW has your exclusive first look at the comedy based on the British hit Miranda.
Bialik stars as the titular character, a 39-year-old who spent the money her parents set aside for her wedding to open a cat café in Louisville. Vanessa Lachey joins the cast in the role of Tara, Kat's BFF since kindergarten. Married with 3 children, Tara has a very different life than Kat’s but their shared history has created a bond that can’t be broken.
“I am so excited to join the incredible cast of Fox’s Call Me Kat," Lachey says in a statement. "To be cast as Mayim Bialik’s onscreen best friend, you got to be kitten me! Haha, I just had to!!! January 2021 can’t come soon enough!”
Kat's coworkers at the café include Phil, played by Leslie Jordan, who recently broke up with his longtime partner, and Randi (Kyla Pratt), a confident millennial and self-proclaimed non-cat person. Cheyenne Jackson plays Max, Kat's former crush and good friend who returns to town and accepts a bartending job at a piano bar.
