In the new AMC show Dietland, Joy Nash stars as Plum Kettle, an unhappy advice columnist at a teen magazine who dreams of being thin.

Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) plays Kitty Montgomery, the editor of the magazine where Plum works.

The show, from Marti Noxon (Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce), is based on the debut novel by Sarai Walker.

Dietland is the first project in Marti Noxon's three-year deal with independent studio Skydance.

Plum (Nash) saves up for a drastic weight-loss surgery when her life is interrupted by a mysterious, feminist organization that draws her into a dark underworld.

As Plum enters the feminist group known as “Calliope House,” a guerrilla group commits seemingly unrelated acts of vigilante justice around the city.

The terrorist group, “Jennifer,” targets men who have mistreated women.

Erin Darke (Good Girls Revolt) costars as Leeta.

Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU) costars as Julia.

Ricardo Dávila portrays Eladio.

Adam Rothenberg (BBC America's Ripper Street) plays Dominic.

Tramell Tillman plays Steven.

Robin Weigert (Sons of Anarchy) portrays Verena.

Rowena King (Of Kings and Prophets) plays journalist Cheryl Crane-Murphy.

The show will launch June 4 on AMC with back-to-back episodes .
