'Tis the extended season

Christmas Movies 2021
Credit: Lifetime (2); BET; Jordin Althaus/VH1; Albert Camicioli/Lifetime ; Dean Buscher/CBS; Seth F. Johnson/Crown Media; Mark Mainz/NETFLIX;Comedy Central

Buddy the Elf once declared, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." Given that our voices aren't so hot, we'll spare you from that and do the next best thing: give you a preview of every single new Christmas TV movie. That number has surpassed 145 films and is still rising, thanks to the overworked elves at Hallmark, Lifetime, Netflix, GAC Family, BET+, UPtv and other networks and streamers.

As you know, Christmas starts early (even before Halloween), so you can already bask in the Yuletide spirit. Plenty of familiar faces abound, including Lacey Chabert, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Alison Sweeney, Kelly Rowland, Candace Cameron Bure, Melissa Joan Hart, Chad Michael Murray, and Kristoffer Polaha. New faces dot the snowy landscape, too. (Hello, Terry O'Quinn, Katee Sackhoff, and Bruce Campbell!) There are mini-reunions scattered across the schedule, involving the stars of The Brady Bunch, Back to the Future, The Wonder Years, and Desperate Housewives. There is a RuPaul movie boasting a flurry of Drag Race queens. And yes, there are so many pretend boyfriends, royal princesses, snowstorm strandings, and things needed to be saved. What's that? Less talking, more opening of gifts? Let's ride!
