Though Yvie Oddly’s Snatch Game failure paved the way for one of the best lip-syncs in RuPaul’s Drag Race her-story, it was still, uh, a failure in the judges’ eyes. And EW has an exclusive clip (above) at tonight’s follow-up episode, which previews the toll the fan-favorite celebrity impersonation challenge took on Yvie’s confidence after she landed in the bottom two last week.
As Yvie and teammate A’Keria Chanel Davenport prepare for another acting challenge (in which the queens will star in a Cops-style segment as criminals on the run from law enforcement), RuPaul visits their Werk Room station for a quick evaluation.
“You have a lot to prove after that Whoopi Goldberg in Snatch Game. Failure is an opportunity to learn,” Ru tells Yvie, who explains her headspace at the time: “I was really trying to be super calculated. I was in my head trying to think about what Whoopi would say and also if this is Whoopi, and am I saying enough. I was attacking myself!”
RuPaul sums it up by telling Yvie the performance “just wasn’t any fun.”
Later, in a confessional (before Brooke Lynn Hytes, Yvie’s fellow bottom-two finisher and lip-sync slayer, speculates that A’Keria will fail at this acting challenge, too), Yvie pledges to put her best (high-heeled) foot forward.
“I’m a little bit frazzled because I did really poorly acting as someone else, but I have to dust off the bad juju and show the judges I’m not a fluke!” she says.
Back in the Werk Room, RuPaul imparts a sage piece of wisdom for his girls: “Be funny, for crying out loud!”
Find out if Yvie can turn her underwhelming Snatch inside out when RuPaul’s Drag Race returns tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET on VH1. Watch EW’s exclusive sneak peek above.
