“Gwyneth Paltrow will not like this episode.”

This is how Simpsons showrunner Al Jean describes the season 30 finale of the animated Fox sitcom. In the episode, titled “Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion”, healing crystals seems to be helping Bart turn around his grades at school, and Marge starts making serious money when she opens a New Age store named Murmur that features a line of Goop-like products. Alas, “it all hinges on whether Bart is really using the crystals to get the A’s or not,” Jean tells EW. “You can kind of guess what the answer is.”

Jenny Slate lends her voice to the episode as Piper, owner of rival store Plop in Shelbyville and someone none too pleased for any competition. “It’s an all-out war over yoni eggs,” says Jean. “This is a a very strange product I wasn’t aware of, but it is sold.”

In addition to Slate, Illeana Douglas and Werner Herzog serve as guest voices. Plus, there’s a solid callback to a memorable season 8 character. “There is a very brief scene with the coyote from ‘El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer,'” says Jean, “who returns and eats a roadrunner.”

“Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion” airs May 12 at 8 p.m. on Fox — a new episode airs this Sunday — but right here, you can take a restorative breath and get your first peek at the episode via these first-look photos.
