Her (Over)watch has ended.
On Tuesday evening, Emily Bett Rickards — who played Team Arrow MVP Felicity Smoak, wrapped up her seven season run on Arrow. According to star Stephen Amell, it was a tear-filled goodbye, which isn’t surprising at all.
“There are days when actors shed a noble tear in a scene and there are days when they ugly cry to the point of fogging up their scene partners glasses. Today was the latter,” Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow, tweeted.
Amell also offered a hint at how the Arrowverse superhero series might say goodbye to Felicity, too. He followed that tweet up with a video of his daughter singing to Rickards, and in the background you can see what appears be the secluded home where Felicity raises their daughter Mia for over 18 years.
Katie Cassidy Rodgers, who plays Earth-2 Laurel/Black Siren, also paid tribute to Rickards on her last day, too. “GIRL, @EmilyBett You are an amazing woman!” she tweeted. “Thank You for sharing your love & light with ALL OF US over the years! #Arrow You are a TRUE inspiration; as an artist, as an individual, and as a dear friend. Now, go move mountains girl!”
Last month, Rickards surprised fans by announcing that she was leaving the CW drama at the end of its seventh season and would not be returning as a series regular in the final season.
