Deadliest Catch

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 9 p.m. on Discovery

Season Premiere
Fifteen extraordinary seasons in, the show still knows how to pump up the drama — like another health scare with the beloved Capt. Sig Hansen, and an ongoing beef between Capt. Keith Colburn and his poor, put-upon brother Monte. But the true hand-wringing comes when the fishermen realize all the king crab have congregated in a relatively tiny 800-square-mile area of the Bering Sea. That’s going to make for some stiff competition. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” Capt. Casey McManus marvels of the Southern Wind. Fans should feel the same way. A– —Lynette Rice

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 10 p.m. on FX

Series Debut
It was a pairing EGOT dreams are made of: famed actress and dancer Gwen Verdon and director-choreographer Bob Fosse, the kickball-change visionary who put his inimitable stamp on the likes of Chicago, Pippin, and Cabaret. Creatively, they made beautiful music together, though their marriage — wracked by his fragile ego and infidelities — wasn’t exactly champagne and jazz hands. Seeing them portrayed on the small screen by two major movie stars, Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell, feels like a stunt at first. But Williams especially makes her vulnerable, defiant Verdon come alive — a gladiator in a little black leotard. B+ —Leah Greenblatt
