Scarlet Envy is getting her life with inspiration from a classic Hollywood harbinger of doom.

With the first ball of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 finally upon us, EW has an exclusive sneak peek (above) at this year’s version of the recurring fan-favorite challenge that tasks competitors with crafting several runway looks around a central theme.

This season, the queens must stitch spooky, ooky, kooky (and creepy) designs inspired by monsters. A passionate fan of old movies, Scarlet decides to model one of her looks after the aquatic menace that appears in the 1954 horror flick Creature from the Black Lagoon.

“Some of these girls are doing scary, spooky, skeleton-glamour-lady, and it’s like, know your history!” Scarlet says in a confessional, going on to label her creation “MILF eleganza” as scenes of her sashaying the “terrifying” half-finished product around the Werk Room flash onscreen.

Season 11’s resident skeptic A’Keria Chanel Davenport, however, has other ideas about the garment — which is, like Scarlet’s episode 1 gown, riddled with holes.

“You know how when you go in the movie store and they’ve got the dollar bin with the generic version of the movies?” she asks. “[It’s] straight-to-DVD.”

Find out if Scarlet’s Black Lagoon fantasy sinks or swims when RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 returns tonight at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
