John Winchester has weighed in.
After Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins announced that the series’ upcoming 15th season would be its last, many members of the #SPNFamily took to social media to share their reactions to the news. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who starred as Sam and Dean’s father, John Winchester, in the show’s first two seasons — before making an epic return in the show’s recent 300th episode — has also chimed in on the matter.
“That was one hell of a run,” Morgan said to the Supernatural family. “I hope this last year is enough time to wrap up a story that deserves only the best.” Morgan then included a special message to Ackles and Padalecki, his TV sons, saying, “ya done us proud.”

At this point, we don’t know anything about the final season, but Morgan previously told EW that he’d love to return before the show says goodbye. “My dream would be to come back and do something in the last year, the last episode, the last couple episodes, whatever, and do a proper little arc,” he said. “It’d be fun to have some time and really dig in,” he says, adding, “Maybe [episode 300] won’t be the end of John. Like I always say to everybody: ‘It’s Supernatural, anything can happen.’”
