HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: 10 p.m. on History

The Knights Templar were left in disarray the last time we saw them, but the season 2 premiere brings new challenges — as well as a darker tone. “Landry is in a place of self-doubt and self-hatred. He blames himself for a lot of the stuff that went down,” Tom Cullen says of his knight. Not everyone believes Landry deserves redemption, especially Talus, a new character played by Mark Hamill. Talus clashes with Landry like a drill sergeant barking at young soldiers, but “as the episodes move, it does lead to an interesting relationship,” according to Cullen. “Talus is one of the most challenging roles I’ve ever played,” Hamill says of the grizzled Crusades veteran. “You look for things that you’ve never done before so that you don’t repeat yourself.” —Christian Holub
