Riverdale cast channels Heathers in new clips from musical episode

On last week’s Riverdale, Toni and Cheryl hit a rough patch in their relationship, and to cope, Cheryl decided to channel her energy into a musical. As Cheryl told Kevin in the final moments of the hour, they’re going to tackle Heathers this year … whether Kevin likes it or not.

The Heathers-inspired musical episode comes after Riverdale found great success with its musical episode last year, during which they tackled Carrie: The Musical. “Last year, we had a blast doing Carrie. This year, we wanted to honor another iconic teen movie. Heathers: The Musical is BIG FUN, with great roles for the Riverdale kids,” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previously said of the episode.

The CW has released a poster for the episode, along with two preview clips. In the clips, Kevin can be seen explaining the musical to Hermione and Principal Weatherbee, followed by the cast introducing their characters. Check them out below.

Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
