One of CBS’ longtime stars could be staging a comeback to the network in a courtroom drama — and as a judge, no less.

Marg Helgenberger has been cast in the CBS drama pilot Courthouse, which is meant to go behind the scenes of the judicial system. Helgenberger will play Judge Judith Benner, who is described as a “progressive” who has become “an entrenched member of the judicial establishment.” Helgenberger joins Jessica Camacho (The Flash) as public defender Emily Lopez-Berarro, Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie) as Mark the assistant D.A., and J. Alex Brinson (Travelers) as a bailiff/law student.

If picked up to series, the drama will follow the lives of judges, assistant district attorneys, public defenders and the various other courtroom employees who keep the courts running in Los Angeles.

Helgenberger last appeared on CBS in Under the Dome (2015). From 2000 to 2013, she played Catherine Willows on CSI.
