Returning contestant Vanessa Vanjie Mateo might be the queen mother of RuPaul’s Drag Race exits, but she’s serving serious daddy vibes in EW’s exclusive sneak peek at season 11‘s next new episode.

Tasked with spoofing Jordan Peele’s 2017 Oscar-winning drama Get Out for this week’s acting challenge, the season 10 alum has trouble getting into character — a drag-ified version of Bradley Whitford’s nefarious patriarch from the original film — at the top of the segment.

“I’m not a regular dad, I’m a cool dad,” she says while wearing a button-up shirt and a crisp tie, but the delivery doesn’t impress directors Michelle Visage and Ross Mathews, who ask her to connect more with her character than playing up her signature oddities.

“I love the energy, but it’s a little Cookie Monster, and the crumbs are everywhere,” Mathews adds, though Vanjie’s attempt at softening her voice leads to more unintentional hilarity, and the judges ultimately tell her to milk the Cookie Monster inflection for all it’s worth.

Find out if Vanjie’s not-so-method acting skills are enough to keep her around for another week when RuPaul’s Drag Race returns tonight at 9 p.m. ET on VH1. Until then, watch EW’s exclusive preview of the upcoming challenge above.
