Grey’s Anatomy has found her!

As we reported last week, the ABC drama was on the lookout for an actress to play Kathleen, aka Kate, the fourth sister of the late Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). And apparently, it was an easy search!

Amy Acker, who is currently starring as a warrior mom on Fox’s The Gifted, will take on the very important role as another Shepherd doctor — though she is actually a psychiatrist. Acker’s character will be introduced in a season 15 episode that will revolve around Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), one of Derek’s fellow siblings.

The other sisters who have appeared in the past on Grey’s are Liz (Neve Campbell) and Nancy (Embeth Davitz).

The existence of Kathleen was first mentioned in season 3. Sadly, ABC isn’t sharing any more details about how she’ll suddenly appear in Seattle.

Before The Gifted, Acker starred in Suits, Person of Interest, CSI, Alias, and of course, Angel.

Derek (Patrick Dempsey) was killed off in 2015, but in a special Dia de los Muertos-themed episode that aired in October, viewers saw him and his best friend Mark (Eric Dane) watching Meredith walk out the door.

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
