Could the rumored Office revival end up being a true crime documentary?

In addition to being writers on the NBC comedy, Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak spent eight seasons playing the highly dysfunctional couple Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard (basically the anti-Jim and Pam). Now years after we saw them fleeing Dwight and Angela’s wedding together— and leaving Ryan’s baby Drake behind in the process—Kaling has some dark thoughts on where they would be now.

“There’s not an insignificant part of me that thinks that Kelly might be in jail; a crime of passion,” she told Variety. “The character just kept getting a little bit more and more unhinged. I don’t want to say that she murdered Ryan but like I’m also not convinced that he’s still alive in the world of The Office.”

And while Kaling wasn’t a part of either of the recent Office reunions, she says she’s down for whatever creator Greg Daniels wants to do, including a revival. “I think that anything that Greg decided to do, I would watch and love and want to help him with,” [that’s what] she said.
