During Jimmy Kimmel‘s winter hiatus, we all became briefly obsessed about whether Grover dropped an f-bomb on Sesame Street.

Adults were very divided — some totally heard the word, others didn’t, and some heard it or didn’t hear it and then what they heard changed the more times they listened to the clip. So weird. Anyway, on Tuesday night’s show, the ABC late-night host played the clip for kids to see if their reactions are any different. Watch their responses in the video above.

The original six-second Sesame Street clip was from Nov. 24’s “Picture This,” with gangly blue muppet prompting a “Yanny or Laurel”-like debate, except so much better because it involves a profane muppet. You either hear “that a f—ing excellent idea!” or merely “that sounds like an excellent idea.”

HBO and Sesame Street Workshop never replied to a request for comment to settle the matter.
