Georgann Johnson, the veteran TV actress best known for her roles in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and numerous daytime dramas, died June 4 in Los Angeles, at age 91. Her family placed a death notice in the Los Angeles Times on Thursday.

Johnson played the mother of Jane Seymour, a.k.a. Dr. Quinn, on the CBS drama. She also appeared on multiple soap operas at the start of her career, from The Doctors and Another World in the early ’60s to All My Children and As the World Turns.

Primetime dramas kept her steadily employed in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. She snagged longer arcs on shows like Wiseguy and The Trials of Rosie O’Neill.

Her most recent appearances were on Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case.

Johnson is survived by her four daughters, Carol Prager, Annie Prager, Sally Seymour, and Molly Boyll, as well as three grandchildren.
