Stephen Colbert thought it “terrible” Star Wars: The Last Jedi actress Kelly Marie Tran had reportedly been bullied off of Instagram by internet trolls. So he decided to put together a new kind of Star Wars movie trailer “specifically designed to make racist, misogynist nerds mad.”

It’s Star Wars: Episode IX – Shut the Hell Up You Broken Hateful Dweebs, a film that now sees Tran’s Rebel Alliance mechanic Rose Tico as the main character. “All the cool male characters, like Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron, fell into a big hole after Rey cut their penises off,” the voiceover says.

The trailer also features “the lady Ghostbusters” and new Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker, both having received misogynist-fueled responses from so-called fans. Then there’s “a girl wearing a Rick & Morty T-shirt,” “woke Porgs” with “Black Lives Matter” signs, Darth Maul reimagined as an “intersectional feminist,” and the reveal that “Chewbacca was a woman the whole time.”

Tran became the first Asian-American actress to land a lead part in a Star Wars movie when she joined The Last Jedi as Rose Tico. Her director, Rian Johnson, and costar, Mark Hamill, showed her support when reports came out of online harassment. “#GetALifeNerds” Hamill tweeted, while Johnson called the trolls “manbabies.”

“That is terrible,” Colbert remarked of the situation with Tran, “but it is good to see Roseanne staying busy.”
