Have you ever thought to yourself, “Hey, I’d love to see Brendan Fraser play God by unleashing a massive plague onto all of humanity?” If so, then the AT&T series Condor is just for you — and EW has your exclusive first look at the trailer (and a never-before-seen batch of photos) from the upcoming spy thriller.
Based on acclaimed director Sydney Pollack’s 1975 film Three Days of the Condor and James Grady’s novel Six Days of the Condor (the book that inspired the Robert Redford-starring movie), Condor fuses narrative elements from both works into its 10-episode stretch. The plot follows a young CIA analyst, Joe Turner (Max Irons), who previously developed a government program intended to identify potential terrorist threats at high-risk locations around the world. His complex algorithm zeroes in on and seemingly thwarts a perpetrator scheming a chemical attack on a major American sporting event, though Turner is thrust into a far more sinister web when it’s revealed that a nefarious mastermind, Nathan Fowler (Fraser), still plans to orchestrate a plague-like outbreak on unsuspecting victims.
Along the way, Fowler’s cohorts are tasked with eliminating Turner and his team, though Turner escapes as the sole survivor. From there, he must get to the bottom of things with or without the help of presumed allies — some of whom may or may not be as dedicated to the cause as they appear.
Condor, which world-premiered in March at the SXSW festival, is the latest television endeavor from co-creator Jason Smilovic, who fronted prior shows like ABC’s Out of Sight-inspired drama Karen Sisco and the short-lived Christian Slater series My Own Worst Enemy. Todd Katzburg developed the program — also starring Mira Sorvino, William Hurt, Bob Balaban, and Leem Lubany — alongside him.
Condor airs its first episode June 6 at 10:00 p.m. ET on Audience Network, which is available to DirecTV, AT&T U-verse, and DirecTV Now subscribers. Watch EW’s exclusive trailer for the series above, and check out more exclusive photos below.
