How well do Steve Martin and Martin Short know each other? How many intricate details of each other’s lives can they recall on the spot at the same time? Well, as Jimmy Fallon’s Best Friends Challenge proved, not that many. But they still showed us why they are indeed best buds.

Like The Newlywed Game except with a Best Friends Box, Fallon asked the comedic pair questions about each other and they both had to see if they could guess the same answer.

They only got one exactly right. “Complete this sentence: Steve has the world’s greatest blank,” Fallon said.

Both answered, “Collection of Nazi memorabilia.”

These best friends have the same sense of humor, which is probably why they’ve been friends for so long and why they’re doing a Netflix comedy special together.

All of Fallon’s other questions fell through the cracks. For example, “If Steve could be any liquid, what liquid would he be?” Short thought he already physically looked like a glass of skim milk, but Martin wrote down, “Why would I want to be a liquid?”

Martin and Short have been popping up on The Tonight Show over the years to appear in sketches and generally goof around. So it felt like a good place to come on and talk about their joint project.

Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget For the Rest of Your Life will debut on Netflix on May 25 with material filmed from their cross-country tour.
