Seth Meyers flips the script on Robert Mueller's questions for Trump
Late-night television was buzzing about the newly revealed questions special counsel Robert Mueller wants to ask President Trump regarding his Russia investigation. But over on Late Night, Seth Meyers said he knows what questions Trump now has for Mueller.
“The New York Times published the list yesterday, but what they don’t know is that Trump has a list of questions he’d like to ask Robert Mueller,” Meyers said. “We got our hands on it. It’s pretty interesting.”
According to the Times, Mueller provided Trump’s lawyers with dozens of inquiries he would like to ask about Russian interference with the 2016 election. Trump’s questions are a little more basic, as Meyers mocked on Late Night.
“Is it pronounced ‘muh-ler,’ ‘myoo-ler,’ or ‘mueslix’?” Meyers recited. “Does impeachment have anything to do with peaches? Why are there underpants but no overpants?”
The spoof Trump questions also encompassed if Vice President Mike Pence is a ghost or not, if Mueller himself is really James Cromwell from Babe, and, finally, “How do you president?”
Over on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert had his own questions for Trump he wants to add to the Mueller list.
“Question 50: did you do it?” he asked, referring to Russian collusion claims. “Question 51: but, really though, did you?”
Colbert also wanted to know about the situation with Stormy Daniels, the porn star suing Trump to get out of an NDA she signed to stay quiet about an alleged affair.
“Michael has a 130,000 apples and Stormy has zero apples,” he said, referring to the $130,000 payment Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen made to Daniels. “If Michael gives Stormy 130,000 apples, why would he do that if you hadn’t had sex with her?”
