Exclusive The Good Fight clip: Watch Diane lose her s— over Donald Trump
At long last, the much-anticipated impeachment episode of The Good Fight is here.
As promised by the executive producers earlier this year, this Sunday’s episode will tackle the possible impeachment of Donald Trump when Diane Lockhart’s law firm is asked to “audition” for the job. The Democratic National Committee, represented by Margo Martindale’s Ruth Eastman, approaches the firm and requests they make an argument for the president’s removal.
What ensues is total chaos — and in this exclusive clip, Diane (the inimitable Christine Lockhart) ends up losing her cool.
“I have a Smith and Wesson 64 in my desk, and I’m this close to taking to the streets,” she says, rather calmly. Yowza.
Earlier this year, executive producer Robert King said the episode was more of a send-up of the Democrats. “The Democrats are licking their chops at the possibility of turning the House over and impeachment,” he says. “So it’s really a satire of Democrats wanting to impeach a sitting president in a way that would make them angry if it were Republicans going after Obama. … There’s a lot of argument among them — especially because Michael Boatman’s character is very much a Trump supporter. We wanted to see what the debate would be.”
Season 2 of The Good Fight is currently streaming on CBS All Access.
