Jennifer Lawrence addresses Red Sparrow haters after rum shots with Colbert
The Oscar winner talked about her 'Kimmel' hosting gig, Trump, and more!
Jennifer Lawrence offered a frank take on her Red Sparrow “haters” on The Late Show Monday, but only after taking a few shots of rum with Stephen Colbert.
The film, starring the Oscar winner as a Russian ballerina-turned-spy, didn’t exactly get stellar reviews from critics. But Lawrence, who took off her heels early on in the interview, said, “It’s entertaining. Don’t put any political weight on it. Like, if you’re like a typical hater and you have a blog, don’t go! You’re officially totally uninvited. I would like to officially un-invite all my haters to go see Red Sparrow.”
This was after a few drinks with Colbert. Lawrence had been talking about her guest-hosting turn on Jimmy Kimmel Live and how this whole late-night hosting gig is “not that hard” when he opened his secret bar behind his desk.
“This will help bring my soul back, I know it,” Lawrence exclaimed, even though it was rum and not bourbon. “It’s fine. You know what? It’s alcohol,” she added.
The actress cringed at the first sip, but then threw the whole thing back when she saw Colbert had already downed his drink. This led to such sound bites about what she’ll be doing in the next year…
… Harvey Weinstein…
… rum, again…
… Amy Schumer’s wedding…
… and more Red Sparrow talk that turned into Trump talk.
