On Tuesday’s episode of America’s Next Top Model, one contestant will boldly strut where none have gone before: she’ll probe Tyra Banks on when the hell Life-Size 2 is coming out.
In EW’s exclusive preview of this week’s ANTM installment (above), Banks, serving as photographer, tries to set the mood for her subjects during a particularly challenging shoot that sees the women of cycle 24 posing with unconventional male models.
Though 20-year-old Kyla Coleman nails her directives, her partner, Miles Dausuel, begins to lose his “power” in the shot, according to Banks. And the supermodel has a solution: “We need to yell!” she instructs. “Shall we do movies? We’re going to start with Friday [and] Boyz n the Hood.“
Dausuel emotes to perfection while shouting the titles as Banks snaps away, but the tables turn when Coleman turns the focus back on her photographer.
“When’s Life-Size 2 coming out?” Coleman squeals. While Banks doesn’t provide an answer, she joins fellow judge Drew Elliott in a fit of laughter at the unexpected moment.
In April 2017, however, Banks did announce that Life-Size 2 — described as a “fun, edgy, modern Christmas movie” in a press release — would premiere on Freeform in December 2018.
Banks starred with Lindsay Lohan in the first Life-Size flick back in 2000. The film followed a young girl who, while attempting to resurrect her deceased mother with magic, accidentally brings her Barbie-like Eve doll (Banks) to life instead.
“Lindsay and I have been slipping into each other’s DMs a lot lately,” Banks, also an executive producer on the project, previously told EW of the upcoming sequel. “I think she’s very interested in returning. It’s about figuring out what that role is. I’d like it to be kind of robust…. I’m not looking for a Lindsay cameo, I’m looking for her to have something pretty meaty in Life-Size 2, so we shall see what our writer comes up with.”
