Plus, get a hint of what's to come on 'Slay Day'
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about to slay the picture book genre with the release of its first-ever picture book.
EW can exclusively announce that Quirk Books is bringing the slayer’s world-saving antics to illustrated form. The picture book boasts illustrations by Kim Smith and sees a young Buffy and the rest of the Scooby Gang investigate spooky Sunnydale mysteries and battle all the Big Bads the Hellmouth throws their way. But don’t be too afraid, according to the release, “this sweet, silly, and not-so-scary book makes a perfect bedtime story, and is ideal for parents introducing the next generation to Buffy and fans looking to experience it in a whole new way.” Take an exclusive first look at the cover below for a taste of what’s to come when the book is released on September 4, 2018.
Plus, if you’re really ready to slay all day to celebrate the show’s 21st anniversary on March 10, Fox Consumer Products has you covered with the launch of the first-ever Buffy Slay Day.
The 21-hour celebration will offer fans some killer loot and the chance to enter competitions to dictate the next Buffy tee slayism. A wide range of slayer-themed merchandise is up for grabs — including apparel, the Buffy Funko Pop collection featuring Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles and Faith, and books. The commemorative day will also promote the pride and empowerment embodied by the Sunnydale heroine as it encourages fans to celebrate the slayers in their own lives.
