A first look at The Kitten Bowl — and one kitty's harrowing journey to adoption
The Kitten Bowl is not just about watching adorable kittens play ball — it’s about watching adorable kittens play ball and get adopted!
The Kitten Bowl Live presented by Hallmark Channel is a feline catstravaganza presented in association with North Shore Animal League America (the nation’s largest no-kill shelter and animal adoption organization) and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation.
Kitten Bowl V airs Sunday at 12 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel and is hosted by TV personality Beth Stern, who is the national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America.
Many of the kitten who participated in the special were displaced from last year’s hurricanes; including Star, whose story is told in the video below.
Some kitten lovers will actually get the chance to attend a Kitten Bowl viewing party and play with actual, adoptable kittens at the Dayton Building of Nicollet Mall as part of the 10-day Super Bowl Live experience in Minneapolis, Minn.
Nearly 100 furry “cat-letes” will take the field over a 10-day period to see which team will be crowned Feline Football League champions and take home the coveted Hissman Trophy.
The public can attend the event through Sunday at 3 p.m.
