Supernatural first look: Danneel Ackles joins the fun as Sister Jo
After 13 years, Danneel Ackles is stepping into the world of Sam and Dean Winchester. In December, it was revealed that Danneel, real-life wife of Supernatural star Jensen Ackles, would recur in the back-half of the show’s 13th season as Sister Jo, a faith healer who somehow finds herself involved with Lucifer.
Since the announcement, Danneel herself has posted a few behind-the-scenes looks at her time on the show’s Vancouver set, but now, EW has the exclusive first look at Sister Jo in action.
In the first official photos, we see Sister Jo working as a faith healer, a photo that’s sure to bring some fans back to season 1’s “Faith” (and raise a few questions as to why there’s a sign that points to Sioux Falls and Lawrence, the homes of the boys and the Wayward Sisters). Then we also get a look at a tense interaction with Lucifer, as well as a glimpse at Jo with Sam and Dean. Does that photo mean she’s on Sam and Dean’s side? That’s still TBD, but at least we have an answer to whether Danneel will share any screen time with her husband.
Sister Jo will first appear in episode 13, titled “Devil’s Bargain.”
Supernatural airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki star as the Winchester brothers, hellbent on battling the paranormal forces of evil.
