A man in Hyderabad, India by the name T. Silva was struck by a train while attempting to take a selfie near the Borabanda station. Miraculously, he survived and Jimmy Kimmel has the “exclusive” interview with Silva. Lots of air quotes are needed here, since it was not actually Silva the late-night host spoke with. It was just Guillermo.
Kimmel’s righthand man was wrapped in bandages with his head popping up through a hospital bed to make it look like his body had been severed. Thankfully, he has enough limbs to still take selfies.
“I am okay. I am alive, and that’s the most important thing,” he said. Another upside? “I did lose weight,” Guillermo’s Silva added.
The video of the actual Silva has been shared on Facebook numerous times, though it’s one example of a larger, dangerous trend in India. Three teenagers were run over by a train while attempting to take selfies last October, as reported by the BBC. Two more were struck and killed.
