Yup, Jimmi Simpson returning to Sweetwater for Westworld season 2.

The actor’s future with the series seemed uncertain after the events in the HBO drama’s first season which revealed — major spoiler alert — that his lovestruck theme park guest character William is actually the nefarious Man in Black (Ed Harris) in his youth. Given that season 1’s flashbacks concluded with this major revelation, it was unclear going into season 2 if the show would continue exploring the early days of the character.

“I mean, yeah, I pop in,” Simpson confirmed to reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena, California on Tuesday. “I wish there was exploration between the time when Williams’ heart was broken and we see the result. I want to know how much it takes and how hard he tried to not go there. But I don’t write the story.”

Westworld season 2 is expected to premiere sometime this spring but there’s no date yet set.

Simpson was also asked about his performance in Netflix’s sensational Black Mirror episode “USS Callister” (a.k.a. “The Star Trek episode”) and rumors that the show might revisit its storyline in a future stand-alone spin-off series. “I’ve heard little buzzes, but I don’t believe anything until I’m working on set,” he said. I would love it.”

Black Mirror is expected to return for a fifth season, but there’s not been a renewal announcement as of yet.
