Always and forever has come to an end… at least for the cast and crew.

The Originals has officially wrapped its fifth and final season, with the last scene they shot involving brothers Klaus and Elijah sitting on a bench in the French Quarter, much like the backdoor pilot (which aired during The Vampire Diaries‘ fourth season). Also like the backdoor pilot, the cast actually got to fly to New Orleans to film the finale.

A few members of the cast, along with showrunner Julie Plec, posted farewell photos and videos from set, including Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies saying hello just moments before rehearsal on their final scene as the immortal brothers you can’t help but love.

One important takeaway from all the posts? Klaroline fans will be happy to hear that Candice King did make the trip down South to film the finale.

There’s still no word on when the final season will air, so for now, fans can check out the posts below:

Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies star as Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson in this Vampire Dairies spin-off about the first family of vampires, their life in New Orleans, and the witches and werewolves who live there.
