Major Crimes: Tears fly in emotional clip from upcoming episode
Rusty has some news for his mom, which leads to a tender family moment
Break out the tissue box for this week’s episode of Major Crimes.
As the final season of TNT’s procedural continues on, the emotional arc of Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) is really kicking into gear. In the exclusive clip above, Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin) has some good news to bring to his mother, but Sharon is overcome with emotion upon hearing it. “You know I’ve never felt this challenged, and this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life,” she says, fighting tears. “I have three children through college and a perfect husband.”
The moment comes in this Tuesday’s episode, “Conspiracy Theory: Part 2,” in which the squad investigates the mysterious death of a second woman related to the Tackles case while Sharon faces a health setback. As to that last detail, we see the ordeal Sharon’s been going through this season finally taking a toll.
“Conspiracy Theory: Part 2” also marks the final installment before the series’ much-hyped 100th episode, which creator James Duff told EW would feature some pivotal scenes for Raydor — and McDonnell. “[Sharon] has a big choice to make, and she makes that choice after talking to her priest,” Duff teased. “That scene — the scene that she has with her priest — I think may be one of the best scenes [McDonnell’s] ever shot in the show. She just is amazing in that scene.”
Major Crimes‘ final season airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on TNT.
