James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams are hot to trot in an exclusive new teaser for season 3 of SundanceTV’s crime series Hap and Leonard, which this time around takes inspiration from Joe R. Lansdale’s 1995 novel The Two-Bear Mambo. (Well, Williams is hot to trot, anyway. Purefoy? Maybe not so much.)

Set in East Texas just before Christmas in 1989, season 3 finds Hap (Purefoy) and Leonard (Williams) scrambling to locate Florida Grange (Tiffany Mack), who has gone missing in the Klan-infested town of Grovetown. Once again at the center of an impending storm of Biblical proportions, our heroes get mixed up with a cast of characters so tough they could chew the bumper off a pickup truck, including a possibly corrupt sheriff and the leader of the Caucasian Knights. The boys learn that the good guys don’t always win, and nobody beats Mother Nature.

Hap and Leonard: The Two-Bear Mambo costars new cast membersLouis Gossett Jr., Corbin Bernsen, Andrew Dice Clay, Laura Allen, and musician Curtis Harding, as well as series veteran Cranston Johnson.

John Wirth returns as showrunner for season 3, with Jim Mickle, Nick Damici, Jeremy Platt and Linda Moran also back as executive producers. Episodes will be directed by Mickle, Abe Sylvia, and Michael Katleman. The writing team for season 3 once again includes Damici, Mickle, Ione Lloyd, and John Wirth, as well as newcomer to the show Pam Veasey.

Watch the teaser above. Hap and Leonard returns March 7 at 10 p.m. ET.
