Think you can create fake vomit just by opening up a can of pea soup? Wrong! On the premiere episode of director Mickey Keating’s horror-themed chat show The Core, special effects expert Jim Ojala (X-Men: The Last Stand, Hellboy II) shows the host and his fellow filmmaker Steven Ellison (Kuso) just what it takes to whip up some primo faux puke. “Wait a second, though, this kind of looks like your Sizzler buffet,” says Ellison, perusing the various bowls of foodstuffs in front of the trio. And the man has a point.

The Core is a new weekly chat show which is available to watch on the horror- and thriller-streaming website Shudder. Other guests joining Keating in the course of the 10-episode series include Elijah Wood, Room 237 director Rodney Ascher, and directing twins The Soska Sisters (American Mary). Keating is the director of the Must List-approved haunted house tale Darling, the survival thriller Carnage Park, and the upcoming Psychopaths.

Watch Keating, Ojala, and Ellison talk fake vom in the exclusive above and a trailer for the show below.

You can watch both the premiere of The Core and a special Halloween episode on Shudder now.
