Each week, we break down the biggest moments from Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow — both here on and on SiriusXM’s EW Live every Friday during Superhero Insider.

This week’s fresh batch of episodes featured Lena Luthor coming close to fulfilling her destiny on Supergirl, the ladies of The Flash taking center stage, the return of Slade Wilson on Arrow, and the Legends of Tomorrow facing off with an old foe. Here are the highlights:

Jeff Weddell/The CW

Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) scarily flirted with her birthright, actually holding Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar) at gunpoint after he tried to frame her when children showed up in the hospital with lead poisoning. McGrath adeptly unpacked a lot of layers to Lena that viewers hadn’t seen before, particularly when she was ready to sacrifice herself to save the residents of National City. —Natalie Abrams

The Flash continues to bring on the funny, with a role reversal episode in which it’s the ladies who must save the day. Besides the obviously awesomeness of #feminism, it was really nice to see the ladies step into the spotlight and bond in new ways. Though they’ve obviously had their fair share of issues after Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) aligned with Savitar last season, the fact that Iris (Candice Patton) could see past that, knowing Caitlin is a very different person, was very touching.  —N.A.

Damien Darhk returned with a vengeance! Like the Arrowverse’s best guest stars, Neal McDonough is a hammy delight from the moment he levitates out of his coffin. From there, he proceeds to massacre all of the Time Bureau agents in a hilarious and incredibly fun sequence set to “Return of the Mack.” It’s our first sign that this version of Damien is more powerful than ever. While it’s easy to get annoyed about the fact that death is far from permanent in the Arrow-verse, returns like this are a great reminder why that can sometimes be more a good thing. —Chancellor Agard

Manu Bennett’s return as Slade Wilson brought some action and emotional complexity to this week’s episode. Even though Slade is supposedly cured of the mirakuru, his and Oliver’s truce is still an uneasy one because Oliver doesn’t (and can’t) completely trust him given everything that’s happened. That tension is apparent in almost every scene Amell and Bennett share together in this episode; you can feel that Oliver wants to be there for his old friend, but he’s also cautious about it, too. Furthermore, “Deathstroke Returns” reminds us how Slade got his nickname in a bloody and violent long-take fight sequence. —C.A.
