If you are an enthusiast of train-based entertainment on the big screen, you are surely headed to see Kenneth Branagh’s remake of Murder on the Orient Express this month. If you happen to not like trekking out to your local multiplex, though, Hallmark Channel has you covered. The network will debut the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, The Christmas Train, which stars Dermot Mulroney as Tom Langdon, a jaded journalist who must travel from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles by rail in time for Christmas. Along the way, Tom meets all sorts of characters, including Agnes (Joan Cusack), who “seems to know his business better than he does,” and a big-shot movie producer Max (Danny Glover), who is working on the train with a script doctor, Eleanor (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), who… used to be romantically linked to Tom.

As you clearly see in this first-look clip, things did not end well. But it’s Christmas, so maybe there could be a reconciliation? But first: Lots of awkwardness!

The Christmas Train debuts Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. As a holiday bonus, we also threw in a one-minute trailer so you could see how Tom’s Christmas starts to go off the rails before getting back on track.
