The cable network has just renewed Emmy-winning producer and talk-show host Andy Cohen for three more years.
Cohen has been re-upped through 2020, which includes more Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a renewed first-look development deal with Cohen’s production company, and his continuing as executive producer of the successful Real Housewives franchise plus hosting reunions and specials.
“Andy is a creative multi-hyphenate dynamo, who through his cheeky charm, fascination and fandom, makes you want to hang out with him – either on the seat next to him or on the screen in front of you,” declared Frances Berwick, President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable. “He’s an integral part of the Bravo family.”
“This is the show I have dreamt about hosting all my life and it’s as fun today as when we started over eight years ago,” Cohen added. “Thanks to Bravo for supplying the booze to throw three more years of great parties!”
Last month, Cohen got into an online feud with Griffin that got as nasty as a Real Housewives throwdown. First Cohen pretended not to know his former My Life on the D-List host when asked about her by a reporter. Then Griffin slammed Cohen on Twitter, accusing him of having “treated me like a dog” during her years at the network, being” deeply misogynistic” and claimed he repeatedly offered her cocaine when she appeared on his show. Cohen replied, “I am completely stunned by this story. It is 100 percent false and totally made up.”
In 2017, Bravo invested more heavily into Cohen’s show, moving his Watch What Happens New York clubhouse into a larger venue and adding the host’s name officially into the show’s title.
