Though James Corden doesn’t appear in every battle anymore in The Late Late Show segment turned spin-off show, Drop the Mic doesn’t suffer from his absence, still boasting big-name celebrity rap match-ups. Ahead of the show’s new episode Tuesday night on TBS, EW can exclusively premiere footage from the battle between musicians Liam Payne and Jason Derulo. The clip features plenty of back-and-forth verbal punches, discussing one another’s relevance, shirtless selfies, and including a few “your mom” jokes.

Derulo started the competition with a jab at Payne’s history in One Direction, rapping, “Look, everybody! It’s the guy from 1D / Not the pretty one, not the gritty one — it’s the one you never see.” He later disses Payne for his posting of shirtless selfies, saying “You take shirtless selfies, like you a clown / But I’m the only one that should be stripping it down.” Payne didn’t seem too phased by the insult, responding by lifting up his shirt and revealing his abs to the studio audience.

After a few rounds by both sides, Payne wanted to end the battle once and for all, saying “let’s finish this kid off cause I’m bored” before jumping into his verse. “I ain’t impressed with your dancing, I ain’t impressed with your flow / You got a song called ‘Trumpets’ cause you actually blow,” he rapped. He finished off the competition by throwing his own twist on Derulo’s popular “Want to Want Me,” emerging from the battle as victorious shortly thereafter.
