Young Sheldon is keeping it in the CBS family.

Mike and Molly star Billy Gardell has booked a guest-starring role on The Big Bang Theory prequel, EW has learned exclusively.

Gardell will play Herschel Sparks, the chicken-raising neighbor of the Coopers and father of Sheldon’s tormentor, Billy Sparks.

The comedy, which was picked up for a full season two days after its special Monday preview debut, follows a 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Big Little Lies’ Iain Armitage) living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Zoe Perry plays Sheldon’s mother, who is portrayed on the flagship by Perry’s real-life mom Laurie Metcalf. Lance Barber, Raegan Revord, Annie Potts, and Montana Jordan also star.

Young Sheldon returns on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
