Stranger Things would like you to tune in to the news of Hawkins, Indiana.

Well, first, it’d like you to watch a commercial about the Palace Arcade, in which somebody under the name “MADMAX” has been winning several games. And then it’d like you to learn the merits of the VHS — “the future,” it touts — before it switches to footage of Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) watching footage of a boy dressed in Ghostbusters gear, presumably her son, calling out for her. And then there’s a breaking news report on the inexplicably rotten pumpkins in Hawkins, so many even Chief Hopper (David Harbour) has jumped on the case. Finally, Mr. Clarke (Randy Havens) offers a “Science Minute” on fear, and how all living things feel it. Including Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), whose wide-eyed shock closes the teaser.

What does it all mean? You’ll have to wait until Oct. 27, when Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix, to connect the dots. But maybe you’re not the one doing the connecting. Remember: Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) has a telekinetic ability that allows her to flip between channels. Could this be her investigating all the clues, maybe even from the Upside Down, as the tweet’s text hints?

Stranger Things 2 premieres Oct. 27 on Netflix.

Netflix’s hit sci-fi series follows a group of kids in the '80s battling supernatural forces in Hawkins, Ind.
