Meghan McCain makes her The View debut
- TV Show
Meghan McCain made her The View debut Monday morning, entering to a loud round of applause from the studio audience following a warm introductory speech from co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
The new conservative co-host comes as the replacement to Jedediah Bila, who announced in September that she would be departing the show effective immediately. McCain discussed her excitement to be part of The View, jokingly remarking on the number of future disagreements that will ensue with co-host Joy Behar. “To be the conservative on this show is something that I take very seriously,” she said during the episode.
Goldberg introduced the new co-host, calling her “a strong voice for young conservatives” and added further praise, labeling her as “fearless, speaking out about issues that affect women and all Americans.” The View‘s official Twitter account welcomed McCain, with a tweet reading, “WELCOME, MEGHAN! @MeghanMcCain takes her seat at the #HotTopics table officially as a co-host of @TheView!”
In addition to retweeting the above tweets from The View‘s Twitter account, the new co-host also retweeted one from her father, Sen. John McCain, and sent out one of her own, making a Views-related Drake joke.
