Ryan Gosling's tribute to his dead dog George will melt your heart
- TV Show
As if you needed another reason to swoon over Ryan Gosling, one of the sexiest Blade Runners to ever Blade Run paid tribute to George, his dog who died at the age of 17 in December 2016. The actor, who wears George's dog tag around his neck in remembrance, laughed with Ellen DeGeneres about the good times.
"George, as he started to age, started to look like an aging rock star," he recalled. "He was sorta skinny-fat and he had big hair and, you know, no teeth, open sores, but still sexy."
When Gosling hosted Saturday Night Live during the season 43 premiere, he was spotted closing out the show wearing a sweater in salute to the pup. Now that we know his necklace is actually George's dog tag, he was also seen wearing the token during his SNL promo (shown above), his uproarious interview with Harrison Ford, on The Graham Norton Show, and at San Diego Comic-Con.
"He was a good friend to me," the Blade Runner 2049 star told DeGeneres, "but it's funny to say dog because I feel like there was something about George where he always, I think he felt like he felt being a dog was beneath him, you know? He would not do tricks. If you wanted him even to sit down, you had to sort of convince him it was in his best interest."
